I first thought that Halil may have misspelled the title of this thread when he wrote "Flush....Flush....News.... ", and then again, perhaps he had not, given the fact that he was talking about the partial blockage of Eroglu's arteries.!

PRESIDENT EROGLU OUT OF INTENSIVE CARE

President Derviş Eroğlu who underwent bypass surgery in Ankara on Sunday has been moved out of intensive care.
Officials at the hospital have said that the President will be discharged from hospital on Friday the latest.

The President’s Special Representative Kudret Özersay has reiterated that the Cyprus negotiations process, including the upcoming meeting in Geneva, will go on as planned. Speaking to the Bayrak Television at the end of his 2 hour long meeting yesterday with the Greek Cypriot aide Yorgo Yakovu, Özersay said the Turkish Side was determined to resume with the talks aimed at reaching a comprehensive settlement on the island.

The Special Representative said that they had discussed the economy chapter and had achieved new progress on the issue.
Asked to comment on whether or not there could be any delays in the negotiations process due to President Eroğlu’s recent by-pass surgery, the President’s Special Representative Kudret Özersay said that both the Greek Cypriot Side and the United Nations were in agreement with the Turkish Side on maintaining the current procedure of the negotiations at the representatives’ level.

“We don’t believe that the current process will be disrupted or held up in any way due to the health problem experienced by the President. The Turkish Side’s goal is as stated by the UN Secretary General to reach a comprehensive solution to the Cyprus Problem in the first quarter of 2011. We shall resume the talks with the same determination and constructive stance” he added.

The Cyprus TMT Society has announced that it will support Prime Minister Dervis Eroglu at the Presidential election. This was announced at a meeting of the Society’s Board of Directors which overwhelmingly voted to support Mr Eroglu.

The statement said that the Society sees it as a necessity for the existence of the Cyprus Turkish People to support Prime Minister Dervis Eroglu who defends the perpetuation of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus which was established at the end of a honorable and rightful struggle and who advocates no compromise on the red lines.

Lets hope this creeps plumbing gets blocked again soon.
