Politically Incorrect Russians take no prisoners.

I'm not sure it shows the pirates being left behind on the boat before it was blown up. There's a big gap between seeing the pirates with their arms on their heads and then the Russians blowing the boat up. All could have been taken off. (Let's hope!)

If they actually did it, good for the Russians. I for one am sick of these ragtag terrorists getting rewarded with ransoms.

What a compassionless soul.

Not at all "compassionless", just a bit more selective about who deserves it, and I don't see why I should shed any tears for the violent broods harassing commercial and private ships.

"Selective compassion" -- what fine control of emotions!

Cold-blooded killing of prisoners having been *judged "deserving", are also deemed unworthy of compassion. Clinical, collective punishment.

*Evidence: generalised piracy!

Maybe do a little research into WHY they began to behave like they do now?

Well, you can have a sobfest over the armed thugs if you wish to, Oracle, though I suspect you might change your opinion if you had people or property vulnerable to raids. These people are not romantic, swashbuckling pirates eager to distribute their booty to starving masses; they'd happily dispatch you or me or anybody else in their way.

Linichka; my 'sobfest' was more for the people who killed them, if that indeed was the case. The pirates, sadly, died (maybe), we all do - their lives were probably quite tough and destined to be short. But, those Russian marines will live, to marry and have children. If people can fit into normal civilised society after enacting such a killing (still don't believe they did) then it makes me feel uncomfortable. I also don't like the gladiatorial-spectator "selective compassion" which you dish out. After all, it's what most sickens me about the clinical cutting of my country and the methods used to steal it ... The Turkish Army are many times worse than those pirates and yet we still call for Justice -- not retaliatory behaviour in-kind.
