I'm not sure it shows the pirates being left behind on the boat before it was blown up. There's a big gap between seeing the pirates with their arms on their heads and then the Russians blowing the boat up. All could have been taken off. (Let's hope!)

Don't know where the "executed" comes from: The news item says the Navy was fired upon first, and fired back, which sounds like self-defence, not an execution of any sort.

Yes, Gas, I did read your link. I'm sorry as hell for their failed state, but it doesn't entitle them to violently overtake vessels from more affluent nations, not even if they did Robin Hood-style beneficial acts with the profits, which they don't. They deserve legitimate world aid, yes. Much of the world is just as impoverished, yet most people don't resort to high sea piracy because of it.
