Funny you should say that. I am at the moment reading 'Pirates of Barbary' by Adrian Tinniswood. It is the year 1684 and the British are trying to end the activities of the North African Corsairs. The English were complaining that the corsairs were affecting the British own slave trade. Good book. Also mentions the Knights of Malta and their involvement in the slave trade. They ofcourse specialised in moslem slaves. What a life. Johnny Depp, eat your heart out.
