Leading US lawyer Athan Tsimpedes returns to London by popular request for a follow up seminar and workshop on Cypriots taking mass legal action against Turkey’s illegal regime and HSBC bank, in the occupied part of Cyprus.

THE SEMINAR WILL COVER:

– Why Greek Cypriots from the US, Canada, Cyprus, the UK and all over the world are registering their interest in this US class (mass) action lawsuit.

– Other legal processes against businesses such as Turkish Airlines and REMAX which violate human rights in the occupied areas.

– How US law complements European law and cases related to Cyprus.

– How to bring Turkey to justice in the courts of the US for its atrocities through the landmark case Kirkham v Air France won by Mr Tsimpedes.

NEVER FORGET!

• Do you believe you have a right to compensation for loss of use of your property since 1974?

• Do you want to expose a global bank that is illegally processing sales of Greek Cypriot property?

• Do you want Turkey to be condemned by the US court system for the atrocities committed in 1974?

This is your chance, at minimal cost, to preserve your and your family’s rights in occupied Cyprus by joining this class action against Turkey and its illegal agents, who are criminally selling your family’s heritage. Join us at the seminar and consider joining the class action too.

I should think every GC posting here who holds strong views about the matters under discussion attended. Definitely all those who live in the UK and cannot imagine a flight to get there from here would have prevented the others either.

Class action lawsuits in the US are at "no cost" to the clients. The lawyers take an agreed amount from any possible judgments given to the claimants. Generally speaking, unless there is money to be made for the lawyers, they will not bother with any class action suits. These cases also take a long time to sort out in the courts, with often multiple appeals by either side against the verdict.

There is already a 1 Trillion Dollars lawsuit against Turkey at the moment in the US courts, for Turkey violating the use of American made weapons in 1974 invasion of Cyprus. If that case is won, there won't be any money left for other cases.??

ONE MORE LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST TURKISH GOVERNMENT

Greek Cypriots in US have filed a lawsuit against the Turkish
government. It is the second claim in US against Turkey. Recently,
Armenian- Americans have filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles against the
Turkish government and two major Turkish banks for damages dating
back nearly a century.

In the name of Greek Cypriots, the lawyer claims 170 milliard dollars
from the Turkish government in the regional court of Washington. This
is the amount of money estimated for the religious and ethnic
cleansings in Northern Cyprus. Last year it was estimated 1 trillion
dollars. According to the lawyer, the lawsuit is a collective one. It
is a kind of lawsuit filed by a group of people or organization in
defense of the interests of some people. This kind of lawsuit can be
filed only in the countries that have American legal system.

The head of the department of international contracts of the
Constitutional court staff Vladimir Vardanyan noted that according
to the American legislation, the US sold arms cannot be used for crime.

If it will be possible to prove that the invasion of Turks to Northern
Cyprus contradicts the law, there will be base to claim property rights

Taking into consideration the theory of international law about the
immunity of the government of other countries, Turk lawyers claim
that the lawsuit have no prospects.

"It is not an accepted approach in the international practice. There
are a lot of contradictory points," the head of the department of
European and International Law of the Law Faculty of Yerevan State
University Vigen Kocharyan noted.

"The preparators of the lawsut have taken into consideration all
these points, otherwise they will not have filed a lawsuit," Artak
Shakaryan said.

He reminded the exception that is recorded in the line with the
immunity right of the states. In the case of confiscating the property
by the means that violate the international law, the immunity right
will vanish.
