i think if you offered a true federation and not a confederation you would get many g/c to agree. Also in a United ROC within the eu that can function as a single state people would go along with this ,but the t/c want the new republic to be a protectorate of turkey and this will not happen.

You are wrong if in a federation the TCs were sure their rights would not be brushed to one side as was the case in the past they would go for it.

A federal structure where the representation of the north and south states will not be diluted to remove the effective effect on decisions that will effect either state negatively.

The upper house will have to have an equal balance to ensure both sides can say no to any legislation that would effect their state negatively, this could also be established by having a minimum number of votes necessary from each state to pass laws. But this balance can never be diluted by the in the influx of population from one state to the other, otherwise as Kikapu left this door open in time the MPs will become GCs and the TCs will be again left out in the cold with no voice.

I think they would accept cross voting in fact I proposed it in the past, but what we would have to do is have first past the post as in the first 70 GC MPs and first 30 TC MPs to make up the lower house with an equal balance in the upper house.

Why not and vice versa the candidates with the most votes will be elected to the lower house, So that would allow MPs regardless of their ethnic origin or which state they resided in to be elected. SO the first 70 GC candidates with most country wide votes would be elected and the first 30 TC senators with the most country wide votes would be elected to make a total of 100 Cypriot MPs.

I am a moron because I warn you about the dangers if you keep going the way you are...???? You have been here long enough to know this place is full of incorrigible Turk-TC haters, who want to crush the TCs at all cost to themselves...I have no other choice but stay down under, because those people have turned my homeland into hell...

how is accepting and comprimising on a TRUE BI-ZONAL BI-COMMUNAL Federation "WANTING TO CRUSH THE T/C"?

1)you want less g/c in the north fine then accept 22-24% of land
2)allow the rest of g/c to return to the north and have voting rights on local and state matters federal election will be based of ethnicity
3)Turkey wants to be a guranteor fine with a eu/nato force or only the northern state.
4)For those that dont return to there homes turkey and the t/c can compenate them in todays prices.
5)NO virgin birth

every thing else seems to have been agreed on (economy, federal structre, etc)only land ,property, and security.so there you have it are these proposals wanting to crush the t/c?

Personally I have no problem with any of your proposals...I can live with them...You go and talk to the Chief GC propagandist/historical revisionist Piratis and get him to agree as well...Then we can talk!
