How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I suggest that you look at Alexandros' surveys and his conclusions on the actual numbers of settlers vs TC in the north. His figures are based on and dervived from actual evidence and not just regurgitated propaganda and I believe theyu paint a different picture to that suggest by you above.

Sorry about the numbers (don't have any exact source myself) but the point is the same, the illegal Turkish settlers are now a vast majority and Turkish Cypriots a minority.

If a TC leader supports solution, which if it follows international legality will require all or most of the settlers to leave.... will they then vote for a leader that wants a solution?....and hence for them to leave...

TC are citizens of the ROC and of course registered.

With respect I refer you a post by Alexandros here

http://www.cyprus-forum.com/viewtopic.p ... lers#14406

and sepcificaly this section

2. Stop exaggerating about the number of settlers. It is ridiculous to be saying that there are two settlers for every Turkish Cypriot, and it undermines the respect of GCs for the TC community.

There are also posts by Alexandros that go into more detail as to the numbers he believes are acurate and why and what they are based on, but from memory the conclusion is that there are not more settler voters than TC.

I would also add the 'common sense' that settlers do not have representation in government anywhere near 'over half' (i think there are only 1 or 2 settler MP's out of the 50 MPs we have) and economicaly as a group in the north they are far weaker than TC, so how these fatcs can be squared with an idea that they outnumber TC I am not sure

Hi Viewpoint, sorry I said as above I don't have a source for this.

What is your source by the way? It's be very unfortunate if there are only 10,000 but it seems a bit exagerated. This shows the level of Turkish oppression in the north :(

What a shame.

Hi erolz, I hope that it is true and the settlers are not a majority over TC but they still have political rights, no?
