Most their population after that had no jobs, were dependent on Turkish dole and became full-time TMT separatists and trouble makers(if they had courage they would have caused alot more trouble, but alas they too are Cypriots!). They did all that and divided your homeland trying to take most the spoils, but they were foiled since Turkey started and contains to draw in settlers from their mainland, eroding their chance of getting a cushy public sector job. This is the source of most Turkish Cypriot discontent at the present, that they are devastated that Turkey used the Sandjak of Northern Cyprus for its own purposes rather than for their dreams.
