Can someone clue me in, since when did Makarios backers and his leftist allies(most the then Cypriot population) have anything but hate for Greece and pro-Enosis patriots on the island in the period leading to the invasion? Didn't the population make Greek officers, soldiers and their families feel harassed and unwelcome?
But let me get this straight while you think your ancestors had free reign to curse Greeks/Greece at leisure, you still insist that you were a separate country, but you turn to the opportunistic squirmy kiss-asses that Mikellides exactly described, expecting once again the "meddling foreigner" to save you from yourself. No nation can save another nation, especially you deluded hubris infected Cypriots from yourselves.
You forget that as a community you yourselves vacated and abandoned your national goal, with no firm replacement besides perhaps leading the useless Non-Aligned Movement and singing songs of the International.
