I don’t really see what the big deal is. It’s a commentary by a diplomat on his host country. The Turkish ambassador in Washington is probably writing that he has grave doubts about USA’s dependability as it has a divided leadership which is permeated by right-wing Christian fundamentalists, an unpopular president who has advisers who have little understanding of politics outside Washington, and an economy that is on the rocks.

RoC Ambassador would probably write the same thing, except that he might miss out the bit about the government being permeated by right-wing Christian fundamentalist as the RoC government is so influenced by priests that he would think it normal.
