If the TCs are dependent on Turkey for financial support therefore giving Turkey a say in the internal affairs and influencing the current negotiations why does the south take measures to support or allow the north to stand on it own two feet financially therefore allowing them to move closer to the south and telling Turkey to butt out of their affairs?
Money is short all around it seems to me - the government just let Eurocypria go bankrupt. But when it comes to welcoming the Turkish-Cypriot community in spirit, the government could definitely do a lot more. It needs to take positive initiatives to bring our communities together in ways that complement reunification talks.
But only Turkey can take itself out of Cyprus it seems to me. If the Turkish-Cypriot community asked them to leave tomorrow, would they? These troops suppress everyone, all Cypriots.
