Why doesnt the south do more in its power to get rid of Turkey in the north? If the TCs are dependent on Turkey for financial support therefore giving Turkey a say in the internal affairs and influencing the current negotiations why does the south take measures to support or allow the north to stand on it own two feet financially therefore allowing them to move closer to the south and telling Turkey to butt out of their affairs?

Money is short all around it seems to me - the government just let Eurocypria go bankrupt. But when it comes to welcoming the Turkish-Cypriot community in spirit, the government could definitely do a lot more. It needs to take positive initiatives to bring our communities together in ways that complement reunification talks.

But only Turkey can take itself out of Cyprus it seems to me. If the Turkish-Cypriot community asked them to leave tomorrow, would they? These troops suppress everyone, all Cypriots.

It looks like even VP is getting fed up with the neo Ottoman rule. From what I have read on CY44 many of the Brits are too. Perhaps they should follow the example of students in the UK. Start with a few demonstrations and street riots to show that you are serious about wanting Turkey and the settlers out, then you may get some help from the GCs.

I'm glad I'm not the only one concerned about VP's safety. While I'm pleased he's decided to start a campaign to remove Turkish troops and settlers from the north, I'm not quite sure he knows what he's up against.

I think the "penny has finally dropped" in VP's head after this statement that was in the Westminster Hall debates recently. He has finally realised that his children will be left out of public sector jobs when they grow up and in order for them to make a decent living, they will more than likely need to leave the north to another country. So much the much promised prosperity for the TCs in their "own country" where they will have a say so in their future in the north, told to them by their leaders, who appears that they did not have the TCs best interest at their heart.!
