Take the small steps like cleaning the "graffiti mountain" first for some help from the RoC, then return Verosa back for some more help from the RoC, then return settlers back with more help from the RoC and allow some GCs back to their properties and get more help from the RoC and then return the TA back for much more help from the RoC. Within few years, you will have a healthy economy and a unified island with the "mortgage paid in full" and the house then becomes yours.!

Why doesnt the south do more in its power to get rid of Turkey in the north? If the TCs are dependent on Turkey for financial support therefore giving Turkey a say in the internal affairs and influencing the current negotiations why does the south take measures to support or allow the north to stand on it own two feet financially therefore allowing them to move closer to the south and telling Turkey to butt out of their affairs?

The embargoes against the TRNC by the GCs have been successful only in driving TCs abroad, to be replaced by mainlanders. It has made their economy dependant on Turkey for financial support, hence the closness of TRNC to Turkey today. The Gcs may whinge about this but it is true to say:
"As ye sow, so shall ye reap."

who's whinging? The tc's are offered a BBF with rotating presidency and twice the land that they owned pre-74 and we still don't have an agreement. They're leaving the island, they're living with settlers, they're living in isolation and they can deal with it. When Turkey wants to make a deal give us a call.
