How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

what have the tcs got to show where the money went?...it seems to me the "loans" from turkey went to lining pockets...

it seems turkey was/is taken on a ride by the tcs...and now vips wants the south to bankroll the north and he calls this a visionary approach...thinking outside the box...

my question still stands...who is gonna pay these interest loans in case of a solution?...

Perhaps more whorehouses opening as a family run businesses to pay back the loans from Turkey by those who in the public sector had received the money!

Turkey wont get anything back because the funds were chanelled back into the Turkish economy. Think of it has funding given to any part of Turkey they never get this money back directly but of course indirectly the economy benefits therefore the country as a whole.

really?...coz turkey seems to be recording everything as loans with interest...

when turkey gives money to other states within turkey she doesn't record them as loans...

in any case have you got a link to back that turkey will not ask for the money back?...

No loan agreements have been signed the financial support are classed as a payment to the north just like any other part of Turkey.

Great post. With no open option or choice for the T/C as I have said many times before we only hold our hands open for Turkey so I don't know why the South continues to accuse me as a citizen that my side is 'occupied*' when they are doing nothing about it what can I do when the person that is 'occupying*' is the person providing my food and water to survive.
*I used the words 'occupied' and 'occupying' because it is what the South looks upon the North as.

Turkey has granted 6.1 billion Turkish lira (TL) of donation and loan to Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) between 1998 and 2010. (1 USD = 1.518 TL)

Turkey helps TRNC by granting donations to defense and infrastructure projects, and by giving loan to public, real and financial sectors. Turkey is also providing incentives.

According to a report of Turkish Embassy in Lefkosa, Turkey granted assistance worth of 201 million USD to TRNC in 2001, and this figure increased to 600 million USD in 2009.

176.6 million TL of last year's assistance was transferred to 2010. 15.2 million TL of this amount is provided for defense projects, 101.4 million TL for infrastructure investments, 36.8 million TL for loan, and 22.9 million TL for incentives.

That's another damn good reason why we must NEVER accept any sort of "union" with this bankrupt regime or we'll be forever-owing money to Turkey!

These incompetent fools will never pay anything off and we will have inherited all their crap!

These "loans" are the smaller part of the funding which are being repaid when possible, the loans were nonrepayable if you GCs would have agreed the AP.

Any which way you look at it… the “Turkish Cypriots” as a political entity is seriously BAD news for anyone to get entangled with!
