How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

The TCs would tip the balance as we are the ones who want Turkey to stay but without financial backing they would never change sides and oppose Turkey why are you finding it so difficult to understand?

i understand it i just dont believe it...

Firstly if the GCs backed by the EU commit to support the norths economy until it can develop to a stage where this support is no longer required. Once this has been establish a new political party would be formed to gather support and get itself elected to start the process of getting Turkey to depart no longer will she be able to blackmail by threatening to stop funding the north therefore her influence will diminish couple this with international pressure Turkey will have to move out.

The TCs also have to commit to returning Maras and settlers so that GCs feel confident to provide the initial support necessary to make this viable. Other economic measures should also be taken to lessen the financial burden on the south but everone has to think long term and consider the benefits.

Agreed. It will take a long time, a very long time.

Can you envision some way of hastening this process? Just say NO to Turkey with some secret talks with the GCs in the background perhaps?

You are not really thinking this through we have some talks with GCs and stand up to Turkey they stop our monthly financial package and the GC back out where do you think you will be? arent you being rather naive?

Doesnt your suggestion show your naivety? I am just going along with your game.

Not at all, your suggestion that we say no to Turkey after "discussing" it with the GCs is being rather naive and placing us at a great disadvantage.

for the sake of a solution that will be just and workable i would agree with vp that some sort of thinking outside the box might be necessary to solve this thing. although i doubt turkey would go gently into the night

If we don't try then we will never learn but I personally feel that people on both sides do not want a solution and are stupid enough to continue with the same rhetoric for next billion years.

if you are living in cyprus i would suggest you open up an organization of tc and gc that fall into line with getting rid of turkey in order to have a solution

if you eliminate all of the rhetoric that both sides spew what differences do tc and gc have today? more importantly what similarities do both groups have?
