Turkey is so late for a Solution

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

And which is why Britain desperately supported the Confederal partition idea-driven "Annan Plan".

Recognized "trnc" would only allow Turkey to control just the northern part of Cyprus without ANY say so in the southern part of Cyprus, which is where the oil is btw. A confederation Annan Plan style would have had Turkey controling ALL of Cyprus.!

Well said Kikapu, and this is where some of our passionate Turkish Cypriots on the island around the Annan Plan's referendum time failed to understand why Turkey would always back a Federal formula as long as it contains its guartantorship and resembles a BBF. Turkey doesn't care about a "TRNC" as the Turkish Cypriot nationalists do. I am positive that if it were completely up to Turkey it would love to return back to that signing point after the 1960 constitution.

KT you have hit the nail on the head...

In deference to Turkey the Annan plan of 2004 not only reaffirmed the guarantee but extended it to the workings of the constituent Greek and Turkish Cypriot sub-states: Turkey’s consent would be needed not only for any future change in the extremely rigid Annan constitution on which Greek and Turkish Cypriots happened to agree about in relation to their common affairs, but also for any change which the Greek Cypriots wished to make in their own sub-state. Turkey’s discretion was to be backed by the presence of armed force for a long (indeed, if Turkey did not join the European Union, indefinite) period. The feeling of insecurity inspired by this feature of the Annan plan and its likely consequences in the referendum were clear to all observers in 2004
