Can anyone please tell me where I can take my daughter's NDS for repair as there is no sound coming from the speakers.

Just how difficult is it to change the speaker yourself, has anyone tried this.

Thank you in advance.

This is from Nintendo Support website

No volume or sound is faint through speakersIf you are not able to hear the sound through the speaker, or it is very faint, try the following:

Remove any headphones or anything else that might be inserted into the headphone port on the Nintendo DSi.
Adjust the volume of the system (how to).
If you are experiencing sound issues with one particular game, it maybe a setting in the game. Consult the instruction manual for the game you are playing.
If you are still experiencing no or very low sound from your system then it will need to be repaired. Click here for repair information.

And If you cant fix it then dont forget its christmas in one month she will ask you for a brand new one.

Is that little thing worth a technician’s hourly rate + parts?

Just grab a little screwdriver mate and give it a little surgery!

Are they plugged in alright?

Any liquid or dust in the little speakers?

Is sound coming out the output jack?

Etc…

I agree with Get Real.

Its probably cheaper to replace unless you visit Thailand or another asian Country with highly skilled but cheap labour. I replaced an Xbox with the Red Ring of Death with an base Xbox 360 $188, and just got the old Xbox fixed for $25 AUD in Thailand and keep it as a DVD/spare console for my holiday house. Repair in Australia for the old Xbox was more than just replacing.
