ER not quite. irrespective of how why what or when basewise Cyprus is not considered a "safe" Country by NATO and they dont share delicate security information with us, partly one suspects something to do with the way we have a commie president who wishes for the "good old days" that makes even Putin squirm.
And of course he has also said that Cyprus will never join NATO as long as he is El presidente. thats his policy.
And who would you offer Cyprus services to?
What exactly is the SBA getting all the credit for that you think should be going to Cyprus?
No SBA bases? then there is no stumbling block to Turkeys possible territorial ambitions as she has stated in the past?

the stumbling block to turkey's territorial ambitions was supposed to be britain's treaty obligations as guarantor of cyprus's territorial integrity - fat lot of good that did us in 1974. so do me a favour and shut tf up!

Im not here to do you favours Zonk, and there is still freedom of opinion...well You failed to mention that Cyprus was invaded by Two guarentors in '74 the other being Greece of course. Makarios said "invaded" in his speech to the security council in1974..were you around to hear it? Greece had already violated Cyprus territorial integrity or didnt they tell you the truth in School.
Did they also tell you he was rescued by the hated british after he had fled to pafos chased by the coupists?
And before you start gobbing off im not here to support or agree with the Actions of Turkey, nor do i own property in the "North".
Its The Refugees who should be asked their opinion and a referendum of what THEY want as the displaced, not those who seek to gain from the misfortune..or their own interests..
You may recall that at the time that the aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious and several other ships were in the area and were advised to stand by to blockade any further turkish action to reinforce their initial landings..
This was cancelled when the Americans requested no action as they had secret bases that they had not informed anyone of previously.
dont bother to reply as i wont be visiting this Forum again, it neither fosters a solution or reflects the opinion of the Majority of Cypriots, not that anyone cares too much what they think.

That is not how Yiangos Mikellides, arguably Cyprus' best known psychiatrist, puts it when asked why more Cypriots don't speak their minds.

“Cypriots are cowards,” he replies. “Whether it’s our genes, or our history – a very cowardly people. Shit-scared. And they brown-nose, and kiss ass, and brown-nose…”

“I think, as a race, they’re cowards. They’re like women. Don’t you hear their voices?” Excuse me? “Their little voices. Eee eee eee,”

Mikelides is an absolute nutter. Anyone taking anything he says seriously, deserves to be locked up themselves. Plonker
