Unlike others, I take no pleasure from the economic problems of any nations, and am well aware there are implications for citizens, particularly the vulnerable, from measures taken by governments as they attempts to reduce deficits, etc. By the way, I have no problem with the UK contributing to other 'bailouts' if legally obliged to do so, unfortunate though this is given the state of our own finances.
Eire is not t the only Eurozone country with economic problems: one has, for example, Greece, already forced to implement severe economic measures to deal with massive government induced financial collapse, due to excess state speding, with Portugal about to join the list.
How lucky those us who live in Cyprus are that Enosis never took place or we too would be suffereing the misery the Greeks are suffereing from.
Of course. everything in Cyprus from the economic POV is wonderful, so we are not going to face the same problems - there is no massive deficit in Public Spending, next year more tourists than ever before will want to visit Cyprus. our property developers will sell all of their properties (once only). pay off all of their debts and everyone will instantly get their title deeds, (those rumours of scams are just stories put about by a number of people who have been ripped off! ), Cyprus airways will make millions in profit, ...
