New years eve 2010

Postby tony006 » Fri Nov 19, 2010 2:30 pm

Hello I was hoping someone could assist,

There is a group of us (10) coming over to celebrate new year in Cyprus staying about 1 mile ouside Protoras. I think its called Panera!!

there is a mixture of ages from 7yrs to 50yrs of age and was looking for somewhere we could go to celebrate, we are all going to be in Fancy dress, just to get in the mood.

does anyone know if any pubs/resterants are doing anything to bring in the new year in the area, Fancy dress all the better.

Many thanks in advance Tony

I think you will find that the whole area is closed for the winter.

CBBB is correct, we parked near the Pernera end of the beautiful coastal walkway last week and walked up to Protaras, Pernera as we drove thru is completely empty as the season has ended. Don,t know where you are staying BUT as a rule anyone booked into hotels in Pernera in Winter season always get taken to the Constantinos in Protaras which always stays open, again last week we noticed three hotels in Protaras that were still open and busy, but very very little else is open in Protaras, just a few gift shops and a small supermarket.

This is not unusual as it happens every year. I hope admin does,nt mind me doing this but suggest you look on www.easterncyprus.com forum as the info of events on that forum would better help you as it covers the Pernera area.

Remember though that New Year events in the east of the island get advertised and booked up quickly. Hotels bars and tavernas do lots of events for New Year and they obviously charge more for that night. If you have already booked to be here, suggest you look into it and sort it all in advance. Good Luck, and if the weather stays as good as it is at the moment its fabulous.
