Not all TCs living in the North come South to use the medical facilities here. Some of them never come south at all and some travel to Turkey for some treatments. I know someone that did that last year.
GCs living in the UK are of course entitled to use the NHS. And Brits living here (well at least pensioners I believe) can use RoC public medical care facilities.
But of the Brits I know, I know only one or two who actually use the public hospital and doctors here - mainly because of the extremely long waiting times for appointments but also because most have medical insurance.
I don't know what Brits who aren't pensioners but just resident here are entitled to - I expect it is means tested. I don't know because I pay for any treatments or tests I need.
It is a lot cheaper in Cyprus to pay for them privately than it is in the UK.
My grandmother has never visited the South and she flies to either Turkey or UK for medical stuff, mostly Turkey. Not only because she hates the South but probably better service anyway.
I too would never bother going to the South, broke my foot when drunk a couple of years ago, flew to Turkey the next day. My father decapitated his pinky a few months ago while doing DIY and got it re-attached in the North, no problems there, it is almost as good as new.
Not sure why people bother going to the South.
broken leg while drunk, decapitated pinkies....you boys sound like a couple of rednecks
Even more medical success stories from the occupied territory…
Halil, cut off his willie during a threshing accident… went to the Ottoman General Hospital and they attached a vulva instead!
As good as new!
Arse-hole.
