Respect is,nt a right, it has to be earned.

But first the true meaning of it has to be 'Learned'.

Therein lies the problem, so many were never 'Taught' it's true meaning which, leads to ALL the misunderstandings resulting from the inability of the 'Unlearned' (or ignorant) to consider the fact that other societies are as entitled to 'THEIR' principles, as are 'WE'.

The thread 'Respect' was locked (in General Chat) and a cursory glance at the responses will reveal EXACTLY how little the meaning of the word is understood, or how unwilling are many to research it's true meaning. (IMHO)

Very sad we couldn't dissect dissents on the dishing of respect. The quote you address above is an example from the repertoire of how little we understand 'respect'. In direct contrast to that quote; I would argue that all deserve equal respect, at the outset, and not assigned 'none' until they have been deemed worthy or 'earned' points from the giver, who must have decided he is well-endowed with whatever is needed to discern, and bestow this valuable commodity.
