Would you consider cutting and pasting the text of the PM into a post, anonymizing it in the process, so we can see the threat in context, or would this not show respct for the PM poster?

I consider that such filthy language as was used in the pm, might cause embarrassment to any Lady or young person that might catch sight of it.

I am sure that the author of the pm would accuse me of a breach of confidentiality and I would not wish to expose myself to such a reproach......"Sorry".

Couldn't have been as bad as the one I got...

The trouble is some do not enjoy self respect but self-love (Philautia) which as Philosophers reported makes them blind to their own faults: however lacking self respect they probably cannot respct others.

The pm I received could not be construed as a 'Threat', it was merely a shocking tirade of abuse and prompted me to consider debating the question of 'Respect' (as 'I' perceived it) which seems to have in some way antagonized the author.

It would appear that MY interpretation (that it is quite acceptable to 'Respect' another member's views) is absolutely at odds to the author of the pm..

Thank you for the compliment BirKibrisli, I HAD hoped that the subject would attract opinions which would bolster my own, in that one should recognize the fact that 'Respect' has very far reaching meanings.

Understanding those meanings could be of great benefit in dealing with the opinions and cultures of other nations.

Lack of respect for others, regardless of their social habits or tenets, is a sure route to disharmony among us all.

At the very least, one should NEVER belittle one's enemy since, by so doing, there can be no glory in victory and much shame in defeat. (IMHO)

Which is why we should ALL give the matter some serious consideration my friend.

There is no benefit in exhibiting one's ignorance, 'Respect' for others MUST increase one's 'Self Respect' since the latter attribute grows out of practising the former.
