The 1st Turkish Cypriots World Congress has begun today in Kyrenia.
Before the congress began a delegation from the congress were respectively received by TRNCPresident Dervis Eroglu, Parliamentary Speaker Hasan Bozer and Prime Minister Irsen Küçük this morning. Speaking during the visit, the committee chairman of the 1st World TC's Congress who headed the delegation Vedat Celik said that people from Australia, England and from Turkey had come to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus due to their love of their nation.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Mr. Celik said they were sincerely devoted to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, to the country’s sovereignty and to the relationship that exists between the TRNC and Motherland Turkey.
President Dervis Eroglu for his part said no matter where you are people should always remember where their real homeland was and said the conclusions and thoughts that will emerge from this meeting would have importance on the government’s administration and achievements as well as on the Cyprus negotiations process.
Pointing to the importance of such a conference on the eve of his tripartite meeting with the leader of the Greek Cypriot administration Dimitris Christofias and UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon in New York, Mr. Eroglu said the outcomes that will emerge from the congress will allow him to attend the talks with a strengthened hand.
Next the delegation was received by Prime Minister Irsen Kucuk.
Speaking here Irsen Kucuk expressed the pleasure as seeing so many people from different parts of the world coming to the Republic during the 27th anniversary of the TRNC’s establishment.
He pointed to the importance of such lobbying activities in terms of explaining to the international community the TC's Side’s rightfulness in the Cyprus cause.
