It must be awful to read the US Senates’ report bursting your bubble after all the baloney you were fed by Turkish authors all these decades!

Can you then explain Gallipoli mr know it all . The Turks were outnumbered but resisted to their deaths and won the war due to sheer tactics and the will to fight .

Must you jump around like a little Turkish rabbit on heat from one issue to the next? :? Let's stick to July 1974!

So how do you suppose the TAF lost 15 supersonic fighter jets to AAA fired by a rag-tag bunch on donkeys?

Treasonous Greek officers had locked up most of the ammunition and supplies. Turkey of 70 million and the 2nd largest NATO army pretty much took losses, met with fierce resistance and found it difficult to tame this small islands army that was fighting itself at the time and had one hand tied behind its back with no or little supplies.

You think the Brits have difficulty with the taliban in Afghanistan? Try touching this little Cypriot porcupine now. :D

Exactly! They won't know what hit them...

Gawd! Remembrance day on the CF!

Am I going to be locked up with Jodu when they partition me?

D'ya think they'll let me keep my laptop in there?

"Opinions"; those aren't being scrutinised!

Why is everyone finding it so difficult to understand that spreading propaganda during war time might necessitate the loss of certain freedoms/privileges which are taken for granted during peace time?

Don't you know the difference between having an opinion, on anything, and spreading partitionist propaganda for the good of the enemy (Turkey), across various media, persistently and prodigiously?

Fine to present your "opinion" on a matter, regardless where you live or who you are; but when it comes to systematic, full-time sourcing of material specifically to monopolise one policy, of partition, and spread it, copiously, then I think we would be considered pretty dumb if we did not act to restrain it!

Our country is worth more to us than the sensitivities of a few Brits/TCs who feel compelled to force their "opinion" in the form of pro-partition propaganda because they consider their "opinion" somehow sacrosanct.

Thanks for this reference, but yes I was aware that Takism had been an aspect of Cyprus Politics in the run up to Indpendance, as a Turkish counter to the calls for Enosis. For variety of reasons, rightly or wrongly, Turkey did not want Enosis. Independance was the compromise.

I am also aware in general terms of British and American Duplicity in dealing with Cyprus, for their own reasons connected with the Suez in 1956 and the Cold war, including the work of Major Macey in supporting the TMT in the 1963/64 troubles, as they did not want Enosis either.

What the GC leadership failed to apprecaite in the period 1960-63 was that enosis was a non starter and their efforts to achive it in 1963 were never going to be permitted, hence the ongoing threat of invasionp with the defacto ethnic partiton in 1964.

A fair assessment of the situation we find ourselves in.

Now what? :?[/quote]

That is the billion dollar question: better minds than mine have tried and failed.

Any ideas from you? If I have some I'll post on the Solutions pages
