Vienna. Vienna on Wednesday condemned critical comments by Turkey's ambassador about Austrian attitudes to immigration, saying his language was unacceptable for a diplomat, AFP reports.
Chancellor Werner Faymann was outraged by Kadri Ecved Tezcan's "unacceptable and unprofessional" comments published in a newspaper interview Tuesday, the government said in a statement.
Tezcan stirred up diplomatic tensions with a blunt critique of Austria's approach to integration and the stigmatisation of Turkish immigrations.
He added salt to the wounds when he suggested Vienna was not a fitting host for international organisations such as the United Nations.
Austria's Foreign Minister Michael Spindelegger discussed the issue in a phone conversation on Wednesday with Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu, who claimed he was unaware of the interview, Austria's APA news agency reported.

...i would ask Mr. Tezcan if in Turkey, there are examples of this "Integration" he suggests is lacking toward Immigrants in Europe.

...he should do well learning that there exists identities of Persons, but that in Modern States, as Individuals the People stand united for a Greatness that goes beyond their Nations.

in my humble opinion Ataturk rumbles in his grave, with what Kemalists are doing. it is a stagnation of thought that has left them divided, unstable, looking eastward without a western face.

interesting times to say the least. when one watches Turkey, one watches Iran, Syria, (and Brazil); i watch Pakistan, Afghanistan, (and Iraq).

yet, it is true that European Nations must accept The challenge of a European Union. with or without Turkey, that is not a reason to deny the need for a Muslim "face" within their own designs Internationally.
