Strictly speaking, Halil, that is not true. Only the RoC represents the island. The entire country of Cyprus.

That is problem forced by Turkish occupation Forces, not the legitimate government of RoC. You are merely stating one of the problems imposed. Do you enjoy this scenario? Most people prefer freedom.

I don't think Britain will be in a position to insist on anything. Do you really think Britain can promote partition of the island and keep its bases?

It was only a storm in a tea cup. :)

David Burrowes, MP for Enfield Southgate attended and addressed the dinner [Lobby for Cyprus] and called on British Cypriots to ignore Mr Straw’s comments.

‘He is yesterday’s man and his views are for “fish and chips” papers only,’ he said.

If partition is not an option and could never happen, why does the Pres. feel the need to warn anyone of what will happen in the event of partition?

If it cannot happen and will never happen - nothing will ever happen as a 'result' of it will it?
