If you can explain to me how "recognition" of the "trnc" will help Turkey's EU accession I'd like to know.

Bear in mind...

Turkey: improve relations with Cyprus or no EU

So in my case it would be Italian, as in non-Turkish and/or non-British?

Nah… still can’t figure it out! :?

You make my point perfectly. That is exactly why Turkey's EU accession is going nowhere.

If Turkey can take northern part of Cyprus by war with the British approval, then they shouldn't be shocked if the Cypriot people take the bases away from them peacefully.! The British lost all of India for God sake. How can they keep the bases if the RoC doesn't let them.?

... they are welcomed to have bases in TRNC and Turkey... :D

British bases in Turkey to bomb Afghanistan and Pakistan? Have you told your Muslim brothers about this plan of yours?

Why is anybody listening to what Jack Straw says? He is not in the British Government and probably busy looking after his drug addict son!

PreparationH BS as usual.

Not for bombing anyone of course... primarily for the defence of Turkish-British common interests if any threats from anywhere arise... Errmm, you know... in this wild capitalist world, some of our muslim bros don't/are not able to consider Turks as their muslim bros due to some well known historical/geo-political facts...

We are not living in a perfect world as you know...
