Why is this law not enforced ???

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Get Real! » Wed Nov 10, 2010 5:16 pm

We once had a young (12ish) Charlie cousin come to stay over in Cyprus with us and in the evening when he got hungry he kept asking for a “bootie”! (Manchester accent)

We were trying to figure out what he wanted when my frustrated dad (RIP) goes to him…

“Re ma thelis boutti?”

Yes I know what the Brits call it. But in Australia, it is called a Patty.

It is not the responsibility of the land owner to chase down any potential illegal buyer of his land from an illegal seller of his land in the north that he is the legal owner. It is the responsibility of the potential buyer to do a property search at the Land Registry office in the RoC when purchasing any land anywhere in Cyprus to make sure the land bought/sold is legal. Considering 80% of the land in the north belongs to the GCs, potentially 80% of all land transactions in the north has the potential of being illegal.! Ignorance is no defence when it comes to breaking the law.

Fair comment Kikapu;but you have to bear in mind that the sellers and their representatives do not care for legality. They will say 'these ARE legal t**c documents and are legally binding. There were plenty gullible people aound to believe them. This in spite of Home Office advice.

Lets hope they have learnt their lesson and if I may add, not ALL were carpet-baggers.

Deniz,

Hence the reason why I refer to the north as being a "corrupted society", because such corruption was/is stemming from the top. !

Majority of those who bought/sold GC properties in the north were mainly by the TCs living in the UK, knowing full well they were buying/selling "hot properties" committing "Sins of Haram".!

Agreed on the corruption issue. The TMT leaders came to London giving away GC land to any who would promise to return or buy them a kebab. I was told to go to a cetain person and he would guarantee me any land I wanted..as if...It was shameful, but they did not know shame. They all prostituted themselves.

Thanks for that Deniz. Enough to make my blood boil and all the fascists on here, from VP and down then wonders why I run them to the ground all the time. All they want to do is to keep most of the GCs land in the north, set the "borders" and then try to secede from the union with the south. That's exactly what the Annan plan was all about. They don't want a "Fair & Just" solution, NO, what they want is further confusion. I wonder how many of the fascists on the forum who gets their balls busted by me all the time were also given free GC land by the TMT. No wonder they don't want to give any of the land back. It's not everyday one can end up with a chunk of stolen land in their hands and been told to keep it, as long as they help to keep the GCs out of the north. Fuckers.!

Well, because these are mostly people who speak perfect English and seem reasonably intelligent and who complain that they cannot go South and that the 'TRNC' is very small and boring compared with Turkey?

I knew one for about 4 yrs who recently left for good. He has gone to Italy and is making his way to the UK from there! Hey - maybe they'll all end up in the UK and that will solve the problem lol!

I think you have given me an idea how to deal with the settlers in the north to reach a settlement. If the EU says that they cannot return back to their homeland on Humanitarian reasons and blah, blah, blah, then the RoC should then issue every settler with a EU passport with the understanding that they will have to leave Cyprus and have a free access to the EU, 2,000 Euros in each ones hand, and a free passage to any place in the EU. Most will go to the UK for sure. Let the British support them on the tax payers money with free housing and food stamps. Jack Straw can become their spoke person.! :P

Reminds me of a British born TC girl who worked for me in the 1980s. Her family moved back to the north in 1975 and were "given" quite a nice GC restaurant. Having been in the business in the UK for some years they made a good job of it but their TC neighbours were jealous of their new found wealth so they blew it up.

The family were so scared they moved back to the UK. I can still remember the girl's brother bullshitting to me that he was going to return to the north and join the TC police. He reckoned that they would welcome him with open arms and give him a decent share of greek loot (his words)because was educated in the UK and obviously spoke good english, sadly they turned him down - his Turkish was not good enough.

Can you define what you mean by a 'peasant'?

I see many aged GCs living here in the old Turkish Town in the old TC properties who I think could justifiably be thought of as 'peasants' - their dress and appearance is similar to Cypriots seen in 50 odd year old photographs. They sit outside on the step or on chairs all day chewing their gums and staring into space. A lot of them are toothless and quite ragged.

These are not the modern EU frappe drinking Cypriots we hear about on here.

I feel for them and wonder what their 'history' is. I wouldn't describe them as peasants in a derogatory way as you do. So, as you seem to be using the word 'peasant' as an insult, can you define what you mean by 'peasant'?

I've noticed that Cypriots seem to insult their own by using words associated with VILLAGES, VILLAGERS, PEASANTS and DONKEYS.

Why is this?
