Speaking to Bayrak Haber this morning, Minister Saner said flights which will be carried out five days a week by the Anadolu Jet between Ercan Airport and London Stansted Airport will in the future be carried out by the new airlines to be established in the TRNC.
He also made public that all details concerning the establishment of a new airline has been set and works are still continuing to begin flights in March.
Noting that the new flag carrier airline will be a state and private sector partnership, Mr. Saner added that the state will hold %47 of the shares.
Stressing that it is unlikely that a partnership with the Turkish Airlines will be set up at the beginning, the Minister said that people have showed great interest in the shares.
He also explained that it is impossible to make the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus the centre for the new company as it is not recognized and therefore Turkey will own %51 of the shares.
‘This is the necessity of the international aviation rules’ he added.
