Here's what your Cyprus Mail said the last time Straw 'caused an outcry' in Cyprus among GCs:

The truth of the matter is that Jack Straw has simply voiced opinions that are shared in large measure by the entire international community.

So, this "man of straw" believes tha the rights of Cypriots should be sacrificed to appease Turkey. I always considered him a lightweight, he's just confirmed it.

hannan wrote:The two sides had been inching towards a “land-for-peace” deal, whereby Turkish Cypriots would surrender a chunk of territory in return for recognition as equal partners in a bizonal and bicommunal federation.

problem with hannan's analysis (he's so old israel btw with his turkish cheerleading) is that you can't exchange "land" for "peace" if the land doesn't actually belong to you in the first place.

straw can say whatever diabolical nonsense he likes and it won't make the slightest difference.... after all, his soul (along with blair's) is already condemned to an eternity in hell for taking britain to war in iraq.

probably not a good idea to establish sovereignty on someone else's land without their permission. interesting idea, though. let me know how you get on.

So, now we have Hannan and the Cyprus Mail offered to us to support (has-been/never was) Straw's opinions  Clutching at straws, methinks! At least Clarkson is more popular, successful and in touch with people.

Even thrown the odd threat about cut&paste by someone who notoriously omits sources and dates. No worries old dear, the FT link is at the bottom, they'll get their much sought after clicks!

Pretty obvious to whom these rotten articles most appeal, for much needed hope in their International law-ignoring, unethical paths ...

Obviously you do not know the difference loss of sovereignty does not mean loss of private land.

you're right, i don't. perhaps it will all become clear in due course when eroglu sells the idea. i look forward, together with Cypriots all over the world, to being convinced of its merits.
