How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Did not know GC's could travel to Turkey...

Shah, my twin sister who has been living in Turkey for the last 37+ years was complaining like hell about the amount of money Turkey is spending in the "trnc" for the public sector's retired employees, which was 3 times greater than what the Turks get in similar position in Turkey. She was furious, because while the north was getting money from Turkey, people in Turkey has been dividing between not rich and poor, but between those who can afford to eat meat and those who can't afford to eat meat. The cost to buy an animal for slaughter has gone up to 45 Turkish Liras (about 22 Euros) per Kilo. People just can't afford to buy meat as before, which has caused price hikes in restaurants, for the locals and for the tourists.

Another sister in the UK who was planning in moving to Cyprus upon building their home there have now decided not to go at all and are complaining that Turkey is ruining the lives of those living in the north by making the north dependent on Turkey's support economically. They don't like how things are going at all, and she and her husband are devout Denktash supporters, poor souls.!

Not surprised at all Kiks. Bizi am çaputu gibi kullanırlar. (apologies for the crude expression)

We don't even get respected in the morning, Deniz.!

Hı ??

Its gonna be like the 1970's again. The bastard right-wingers killed so many of my friends in Ankara and Istanbul. Mark my word.

Don't worry, we all know that this in reality is Racist Forum.

Cyprus is just an excuse

dunno about anyone else here but i dislike people based on how contemptible they are - not on what 'race' they think they belong to. your paranoia's contemptible.

Yeah thats what you say now, but does not hide the fact that most of your posts are full of indiscriminate racist vile.

not one of my posts is racist... u just think they are 'cos ur a backward tc.

How is that not an oxymoron?

because only a moron would be unable to appreciate the irony - reinforcing once more my earlier contention.

Irony that you are a racist scumbag who spews more racist shit as his defence?

You are right, that really is moronic.

why can't you come to terms with the fact that the antipathy towards you is solely due to your stupidity?

I was unable to reply to this when I wanted because my blackberry battery died. I must resurrect this topic. I have a group of Greek Cypriot friends with Australian passports who routinely take cheap flights in to Turkey, from the illegal airport in Cyprus to do business in Ankara & Kuzadasie or what ever its called. They have the"ekprosopia" for a couple of big food companies in the free areas and routinely take orders in Turkey. They began selling products to Turkish Cypriots but one day one of them walked into the illegal airport. The rest is history.

They have been asked by their new Turkish (mainland) friends to sell Turkish confectionary brands in Cyprus and even Greece.WTF?!?!. Turkish business men not only prefer doing business with Greek Cypriots over Turkish cypriots they prefer doing business with Greek Cypriots over the Kalamaraes.

Well this is a bit of a turn up! Was the case that the mere mention of Turkey or Turks had some of the regulars foaming at the mouth. Now they all seem to have good pals who go to Turkey regularly and trade there! All hearsay of course with no verification but then it has always been thus here:

Hearsay
Is OK
One Way!

If the news isn't so good for the GCs they rubbish reporters from even the most respected newspapers and news channels!

On a trip we took to visit the Agia Sophia we were surprised to see at the passport control an electronic board with the charges of visas for each country. Cyprus was pictured with the ROC flag :D and with the same charge as the rest of the EU countries.
