The north falls into the occupation by a foreign army zone is the reason for the ID showing. Just formality, that's all.!

Funnily enough what you do when you enter another country.

There is difference between a legitimate countries requiring an ID and a foreign imposed military occupation zone. Most of the EU countries doesn't even require to show any ID to travel within Europe since the passage of Schengen Agreement.!

Do you deny the fact that, if the north were not under a foreign occupation, there wouldn't be any need to show an ID to travel anywhere within Cyprus.???

I already know the answer, so let me say, CASE CLOSED.! :D

So according to your logic, Kikapu; had TCs protected the Green Line until a solution found, TC armed forces would let anyone to travel anywhere in North without showing any id cards? and under these circumstances you wouldn't call TC national guard as an occupation army?

R u sure?

Without the occupational force of Turkey, there wouldn't be a "Green line" need to be protected by the TCs "arm forces", would there, Insan, and that's my whole point, but you have earned some credit for using the term "Green line" and not a "border" like some Hillbillies here on the forum.! :D

Had TCs had sufficient military power and military support as much as Greece has given to GCs, sure there would have been a Green Line until a solution found.

I call it Green Line because no lasting solution has been found to the Cyproblem yet... not becuase I don't recognize TRNC as a state...

Though i sometimes call it so-called because of our incompetent politicians and state men... Actually i mean a so-called government that governed by a bunch of illiterate, self-interested rich TCs.

On the other hand, from a broader perspective; i consider their illiteracy, incapability and greediness as justifiable because the democracy in TRNC is almost like a new born baby, has a long way to grow up and mature...

Sure I presented my passport when I went into the ethnically cleansed area.

The "officials", knowing that the visa stamp of the "trnc" was not a proper stamp of the RoC, were good enough not to blight my EU passport with it, instead opting to stamp a scrap of paper instead.

That's a clear indicator as to what the line is - not a border, but a cease-fire line.

Would you rather they stamped your passport? We can have that arranged if you wish.

VP, I know your not that stupid.

I'm sure they would love to stamp everyone's passport but even they know they really can't.

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

Here's a couple of paras from the CYMail on this...

The Czech MEP held a press conference yesterday just a day after eight members of the Contact Group while on a tour of the north were prevented by Turkish authorities from crossing back to the south via the Limnitis crossing point because their papers were not in order.

The MEPs had just held a meeting at the Turkish Cypriot village of Limnitis-Yesilirmak with the mukhtars of Limnitis-Yesilirmak and of Kato Pyrgos and Green party deputy George Perdikis.

The two mukhtars then separately crossed to the south to the Greek Cypriot village of Kato Pyrgos, where they awaited the party of MEPs to join them shortly later. The MEPs ended up turning back and crossing to the government-controlled areas in Nicosia.

Brilliant!

The Turdland Criminal Conspiracy known by some as "tnuc" obstructing MEPs, and not just any old MEPs but the Whole of The EPs Contact Group as they go about their fact-finding mission.

Brilliant! .........

Wonder what they'll be telling their colleagues back in Strasbourg?

Brilliant .........

That their papers were not in order thats why they were not allowed to cross.
