“if they want they are welcome to join us ''

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

“if they want they are welcome to join us ''

TRNC HAS THE RIGHT FOR THE EXPLORATION OF NATURAL RESOURCES IN ITS EXCLUSIVE ECONOMIC ZONE .

The Minister of Economy and Energy Sunat Atun has stressed the need for restructuring the strategic Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority. Touching upon the oil and gas exploration project which is planned to begin off the northern coast of Cyprus, Mr. Atun called on the Greek Cypriot side and said “if they want they are welcome to join us in our search for oil and gas.”

Speaking on the Aksama Dogru program on Bayrak Haber yesterday, Mr. Atun said the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and countries it has entered into agreements with have the right to explore for natural resources in the TRNC’s exclusive economic zone.

Pointing out that the water and electricity projects are important issues for the government, he said the cooperation protocol between Turkey and the TRNC on the field of energy involves the restructuring of the cooperation between the two countries and working together on the fields of modernization and investment.

Noting that a serious decision has been made for bringing electricity to the country from Turkey via cable, the Minister said feasibility and technical works on the energy project has reached its final stages.

What "exclusive economic zone" is that then? Isn't it time this Turkish delusion was put to rest. It's getting a little farcical. For how much longer can Turkey persist in its crazy hallucination that the "TRNC" is a real entity with real rights? No matter how much a madman insists he is Napoleon or Jesus, it doesn't make him so. Give it up.

Going strong? You are bloody joking. No recognition, no direct trade, an economy in freefall and T/Cs reduced to a minority amongst an influx of Anatolian day labourers. The only thing sustaining the north are the Turkish mafia's casinos and the cheap colleges that entice the offspring of rich Turks with strange English-sounding names.

Going strong? Going nowhere more like.

The situation will only change when Turkey can no longer sustain the occupation, economically and diplomatically. Our role is to pressure Turkey into complying with international law and making sure they can't achieve their partitionist aims. Your role is to shut the fuck up, blame the rest of the world for your predicament, and don't make any problems for the Turkish occupying authorities.

Again, youre stating the obvious. You managed nothing in 36 years. Please tell us when youll manage any of the above. I want you to make a prediction, your prediction can be a century or two + or minus.

Dear Halil, make us a favor. Just explain to this "Minister of Economy and Energy Sunat Atun " that is better for him and his future, to deal with Baklava shop in occupied Cyprus. This just because until he realize that he is speaking about a "nobody's state" and to a "nobody board and audiance" he will became very old to gain something out of it.

Many times your people ,when they speak about "TRNC" matters they are playning a mapet show. They just organize two teams of players - one side playing the role of the "government" and the second the role of "citizens".

You must established a ticket for the show- you can gain much more than the economical zone of ROC'S territorial waters resources.

With all these projects going ahead it is unfortunate but the T/C will only have Turkey as an option for independence as we will depend on Turkey resources more and more. The longer that no solution has been accomplished the wider the division grows.

Just think about it Turkey is pumping millions and millions of dollars into TRNC and do you think it will just say bye bye to Northern Cyprus. If I was an investor pumping millions of dollars into an economy I certainly wouldn't want to lose it if my return will be zero but continue the division and I get my return. So what option would I take?

It is the lack of government on both sides acting like puppets ' blame game' not to look out for it's own citizens but the $$$ in their own back pockets. It is sad really. But for the north continuing to be blocked by the south in all areas of trade and resources we can't lift off the ground on our own.
