No doubt the judge has to take into account all the circumstances. Conor seems pretty big and brusque and maybe there was more evidence to show he went looking for trouble than we have been told by Conor, here on this forum.
I abhor physical violence, but I can see how men can be driven to it. A momentary mistake (especially if provoked) should be offered some leniency. It's not like Conor is some meek, gentle, quiet old lady whose only 5ft tall
