This recent decline I put down to relentless trolling and dishonest, anti-Cypriot campaigning by the likes of Gasfart and Milo. They are totally devoid of humour and drag others down to their miserable, low-life levels. :(

We usually have a sustained stream of anti-Cypriot threads, fueling debating battles. But, most Brits have a spark of logic and/or humour with which one can gain anchorage. Not so, the followers and disciples of "Conor the Blahbarian".

The quality is not helped by the out and out racism of some -
Cyprus could be paradise - got forbid it it should be little Britain in the Sun, Now fair enough, we have corrupt and racist politicians . polcemen, etc in the UK - the Cypriot expat community based there is welcome to complain about them, and yes there are some appaling Brit immigrants out here who spend all of their time on the pop, and who whinge without good reason, but there are problems with Cyprus that all in Cyprus should feel free to address, without being subject to a barrage of racist abuse, or being told that if you do not like it, to leave: the property mis-selling issue is one.

Now if some of you don't like the message, dont shoot the messenger, but look objectively at the grounds for complaint.

If for example you don't like the bitching about the property mortgage scam issue, take it up with the Builders, the lawyers, the banks, etc., and get them to clean up their act.

In that regard, as I was hoping to say before the Topic was locked, possibly due to the level to which Get Real had descended, I think that O' Dwyers' alleged defamatory comment was quite reasonable: at the minimum anyone thinking of buying in Cyprus should be aware of Karynannis and now proven criminal behaviour, and also of what, if what Mr O'Dwyer says is true, appears to me to be the appaling way the authorities failed to take any action to investiagate the asult until Mr O Dwyer resorted to publicity with his website and protest outside of the high commision in London.

I lived in the UK for many years and the usual response if you mentioned you don't like the weather, the food, the politics etc ... was, "go back to your on country!". And I didn't even choose to end up in the UK! I was 6 years old. We were napalmed and bombed out of our village. Imagine then, what one could say to those who supposedly choose to move to Cyprus! Why do they defame, criticise, and more importantly, support the enemy occupants of Cyprus?

As for "Conor", I don't think you know what you're talking about.

It appears from stuff he posted here, that the guy couldn't wait for normal procedures but mounted a defamatory campaign not only specifically at the developer whom he seemingly baited, but also generally against Cyprus and its people. GR! has responded brilliantly to this so I can't add to it but it begs belief how recalcitrant some Brits are to logic!

In keeping with the tradition of posting youtube, I add mine:

wot a ridiculous analogy.... the war isn't over in cyprus..

imagine what life would be in the uk if a third of britain had been invaded and occupied by nazi germany; if they'd built statues of hitler and flew swastika flags all over the southern part of england; if hoardes of germans had been moved over from germany to repopulate the abandoned southern towns... what would the brits who'd been squeezed north of brum be doing? sending the krauts flowers?

How quickly they forget that in the 70s all British TV ever did was Hitler! From Benny Hill to Faulty Towers, they just couldn’t get enough of him and that was 30 years AFTER WWII and no territory under occupation!

You mean you got ripped apart!

We have no qualms about Karayiannis receiving bad publicity if he so deserves, but what has Cyprus got to do with this case?

Absolutely nothing that’s what!

It’s what I warned Conner about a couple of years ago here on this forum when he first started the public funny talk but he wouldn’t listen… now watch the RoC decimate him in court!

Ripped apart? In your dreams.

Read his remarks about the way the Cyprus Police failed to respond to his complaint about the assult. That is what the state of Cyprus has to do with it.

If Conner thinks he can dictate the time taken to process a court/police case and use that as justification to defaming the state he’s got another thing coming!

I’ll bet the state’s case against Conner will be heard so fast that if it weren’t against him he’d be proud of them!

I would wager that most people anywhere in the world who handover hundreds of thousands of pounds for real estate after paying for independent local legal representation but end up with no title deed for many years will be, to say lightly, frustrated with the system. This isn't frustration at the people that live under the system or the nationalist guy/gal on the internet, but the mechanisms that don't appear to have provided protection to the buyer.

Get Real said he wants a war with the British .... more than a little worrying to be honest, as all i think, 'they' want is the security of the title deeds for the home(s) they purchased in Cyprus. Once they don't feel like they are being screwed over then normal banter can resume, i guess. ;)
