If Coner had not publicised his experience then he would have joined the thousands of other foreign buyers who have paid for properties they will never own or stand to lose their homes to pay the banks the developers mortgage. The whole legal system needs revising and the government must take responsibility to ensure that those that break the law are prosecuted, no matter what Nationality.
You are wrong to say this is about developers..............its more about a legal system that is implemented in such a way, as to only favour certain citizens and allows and encourages property fraud without applying justice. Its about a legal system that fails to monitor standards, allows those that are guilty of malpractice to continue in business and its principle aim is to continue allowing nests to be feathered, no matter what the costs or the crime committed.
There will always be corrupt developers, throughout the world, its the inability of the Cypriot Government to take constructive action that is being scrutinised by the EU and media. So I am afraid I would have to disagree with your statement supporttheunderdog,
"it suggests that there’s a problem with the COUNTRY instead of the developer"
