Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

If Coner had not publicised his experience then he would have joined the thousands of other foreign buyers who have paid for properties they will never own or stand to lose their homes to pay the banks the developers mortgage. The whole legal system needs revising and the government must take responsibility to ensure that those that break the law are prosecuted, no matter what Nationality.

You are wrong to say this is about developers..............its more about a legal system that is implemented in such a way, as to only favour certain citizens and allows and encourages property fraud without applying justice. Its about a legal system that fails to monitor standards, allows those that are guilty of malpractice to continue in business and its principle aim is to continue allowing nests to be feathered, no matter what the costs or the crime committed.

There will always be corrupt developers, throughout the world, its the inability of the Cypriot Government to take constructive action that is being scrutinised by the EU and media. So I am afraid I would have to disagree with your statement supporttheunderdog,

"it suggests that there’s a problem with the COUNTRY instead of the developer"

Have you managed to source some actual numbers, yet? Or, are you still in hyperbolic mode?

Well obviously you know all about being boring, Mr Macintosh-wearing-Mug-giver-man!

What a pathetic response, is that the best you can do, critisize my clothing and the fact that I gave fellow CFers a token gift of our meeting.

You miserable little shit.

I value my MUG very much. I can say we enjoyed each others company too.

Lots of green monsters about.

Just ignore them Jerry.

Thank you Deniz, I just get angry when people who I have never crossed swords with feel obliged to have a pop at me for no good reason. Yes we did have a good laugh on that day and I hope we can do it again some time.

Let's gang up on Jerry, had to have a go didn't you? Not a very scientific approach, do your research properly, engage your brain before you post. Suggest you look at page 3 of this thread.

Hello hissy, I appreciate the time that you have devoted to this. But this isn't what you were saying earlier. Still not having deeds (something we agree is too slow for many - but not from my personal experience) and accusations about thousands standing to lose their homes (so far none have) are two separate issues.

Personally, I hate all those developments that have sprung up all over the place and would happily support any moves to bulldoze them all down, pay off the Brits to depart (as they wish) and keep things in-house and nationalised; perhaps towards Eco-Agro-tourism.

As a Cypriot let me say how disgusted and annoyed I am by the lack of action by the RoC to force developers to act within the law.
We are not some third world nation out in Africa or the M.East and ought to behave like a European state ought to. It is a national disgrace and ought to be addressed by the government as a matter of urgency in order to enhance the name of Cyprus.
I find it appalling that some Cypriots rush to the the defence of unscrupulous developers as if it was a matter of national pride. Well I for one is not proud to know that so many investors have paid their money and received no deeds.
At times it appears that those in charge of Cyprus are not the members of the elected government but the wealthy developers , business class etc.
