Value and service

Postby DANGAMAN » Fri Oct 29, 2010 7:23 pm

I am thinking of moving from Cyta (I have internet 2mbs , phone and two mobile phones which are used locally and within reason. I am paying about 110 Euro monthly for all the above.

I am thinking of moving to another company for basically internet and TV. I do not mind if I ditch the home phone.

What companies do you suggest and how good is the price and service?

I will look them up on their site, however I am asking from personal experience

As regards TV I am not interested in sports just movies, kids channels and the usual discovery etc.

Thank you in advance

there is no cable in my village, but its very reliable. you should check out their website and see what package suits you best :) http://www.cablenet.com.cy/

if you do not like any of that then you can see every internet isp in cyprus and compare prices and speeds. atm i have cyta 4mbit and i pay 50euros a month!

Cablenet gets some very negative reviews at cyprusbroadband.net recently. Many people complain that they don't get anything near the speeds they are paying for. Primetel gets mixed reviews but you have to sign one year contract and that means you will be stuck with them even if you are not happy with their service. I say stick with cyta. And if you don't care about Cyprus football then ditch cytavision and get satellite with dreambox for TV.

I'm sticking with Cyta, having read so many bad reports about Cable Net now (esp. it seems in the Larnaca area?)
And sat dish for TV.

Cyta are upgrading to 4M in about Dec apparently. We'll see - didn't notice any improvement at all hardly with the last upgrade.

Interesting you only pay 50euro Palio. Is that before adding VAT?

Dangaman, unfortunately, we are stuck with Cytacrap. Until some professional company can come and compete with this monster we have no choice really.

I recently had issues with them and I bloody well told them so in their showroom.

I say ditch the semi government BS and bring in some real players. That is the only way they will pull up their socks and support their customers.

With a 68m Euro surplus after taxation, you must wonder.

Bloody rip off crooks.

My first online experience was in 1989 via a 2400 baud Hyundai modem when I made contact with a BBS and couldn’t figure out what the hell was going on, so I can’t really complain about the service I get these days…

Lest we forget!
