Welcome to the forum Mush and, although I cannot help you in your quest to find a suitable tree, I can offer you some sound advice on it's planting.

Be sure to locate the tree with the front of the trunk facing forward, so many people plant their trees with the back of it facing forward and it is such a shame that they do not recognise the difference.

I have several Ficcus plants that I have grown from 'saplings'. One is well over 4 metres. Best thing - I only paid a few Cyprus pounds for all but one - found that in a roadside bin! Worst thing - the Weeping Fig lives up to its' name, especially at this time of year!
Buy a small yukka - they are rapid growers and will reach your required 3metres in no time and the flowers on them are lovely too.

Try your local nursery; they always have a good selection and offer sound advice.
