War in Iraq: to be or not to be?

Postby Tatiana » Sat Feb 22, 2003 10:21 pm

Doesn't it look like the war will start irrespective of whether millions of protesters all around the world go on street ? Frankly speaking, I am personnally not sure that the war can be quickly finished once started. And it is possible that Saddam sets on fire the oil fields, which can result in a global environmental catastrophe. Is there a way to prevent this nightmare? Bush is clear:Saddam's regime should be eliminated, but is it the right way - to start the war which can turn unpredictable?

Americans want Saddam to go, and a puppy president to be installed in his place. Therefore they need their ground forces inside Iraq to be able to control it.
It seems that there is no way to prevent what Americans decided.

Americans should have never gone to Iraq in the first place. Now that they've done the damage, they must give the control of Iraq to the UN immediately, which in its turn should prohibit American soldiers from being in the international task force which will ensure security in Iraq.

Hristo, Americans made a serious investment for Iraq. Now they want their ROI (return on investment) from it. They have the power, they do what they want.

it seems what I said in February is still true. Americans will not leave until they are sure that a puppet government is installed and their interests secured.

The ONLY thing that can change that is if a lot more Americans soldiers get killed there. This can couse several problems to Bush.
