Here we go again misconstruding what i said about Turkified . i will make it plain and simple i am aware of where i orininate from just like we all do as we live in England. My parents are Turkish Cypriot and go back 600 years all TC originate from the ottoman empire meaning from some part of the Empires boundaries .That is all i am saying . I am not making some colonial comment i am stating a historical fact thats all and also the person making a comment about a safe return home .Can you please elaborate on what you mean by a safe return Home this as i can assure you that in my mothers village which pre 1974 was a mixed village they co existed with two communities both living their way of culture and there was absolute no desire to safe return home as they were at home as far as they were concerned and so did their 6 generations before them and i am certain well i can only speak for myself as i was born here that this is my home and i have no desire as a safe return home do you back to Greece?

just cos you imagine you can trace your origins back to some local imperialist backwater, (in ur case from nearly half a millennium and at least 20 generations ago), don't mean all cypriots do....

There is only one fact here and it can be proven if you care to be checked by a genoelogist .
Can you explaine what you mean by a thoroughbred and how did you come to that conclusion as you said i am passsing statements as fact .
You can inquire with any geneologists and they will tell you a person with a higher superiour genetics is one that is mixed a thoroughbred as you claim to be is of less genetic build and more likely to have deseases brought down from generation to generation .
You being a local would appreciate that a mixed breed dog lives longer and healthier than a thoroughbred Dog which would also apply to humans .
You can carry on insulting me that i am passing of as fact of my creed but to be honest i had to make some remarkable statements to get some response.
All i got is a very and i predicted i would some one telling me they are a thoroughbred not realising that this was exactly the response i was after .
Very predictable.

must have been my great grandparents then who mixed and matched. i shudder to think with who but one thing's for sure, they must have been good looking and incredibly bright. do you know who your great grand parents were? And their parents?

After posting here for over 5 years,I have come to certain conclusions I'd like to share with you...

The notion of Cypriotism is alive and well ONLY with those who do not actually live in Cyprus...

Unless you are married to a member of the "other" community,people here are totally incapable of any human feelings like empathy,compassion,understanding or respect...

The only real solution to the Cyprus problem is to make it compulsory by law for people to marry ONLY someone from the "other" community...

Since that is NOT going to happen the only realistic solution is for the North to be an ethnically cleanesed TC state run by Turkey,and the South to be an ethnically cleased GC state run by those susbscribing to the fanatical TC/Turk hating Hellenic ideology...

All the political arguments here eventually descent into namecalling,insults,and worse with people cleary exhibiting the historical animosity,suspicion,denial,and intense hatred of the "other"...which brought us here in the first place!

Apart from that all is rather rosy here,and we get on like a house on fire...

im not i am called a cypriot.. no greek, well apart from the fact we speak greek but that does not mean i am greek or have any greek roots. i am a greek speaking cypriot.

There is no such Race as a cypriot same as there is no such race as being British .
I can respond in the same manner . I am British i speak english but i am not English .
But if i am asked am i English i would have to say no i am not.
This would be the same question put to Palio .
Bear in mind there is no race termed as Cypriot .
What race are you Palio and please dont say Cypriot because if you ask me what race i am i will answer you in the same context as you that i am a British race which does not exist.

Martha, do spend some time as GR is suggesting to familiarise yourself with the workings of the technology... Your posting and your life will be much easier after that...

Quickly, there is no RACE as a Cypriot race of course..There are very few races in the world,like the white race,the yellow race,the black race etc...But there is,or could have been, a Cypriot NATION...People who live in Cyprus who share the same geography,history,customs and traditions,gene pool,and lifestyle and social values etc...

Unfortunately Cypriots have allowed their two differences (language and religion) destroy all the other things they have in common...They had a lot of help from outsiders,no doubt,but still they should have known better...It is too late now,a lot of hearts and minds are poisoned by the past events...As you can see on this Forum...
