B25 how do i only bring up my heritage when it suits me? you can't just generalise like that, it's not fair and you're only fueling stereotypes.
seriously though, is every thread on this forum turned into a slanging match?

Welcome to the cf Shalay.

Our friends here delight in confrontation. Mind you there are indeed points to discuss, but more often than not they do 'stereotype' which is not helpful. It makes them feel better, thats all.

Do not be disheartened. :? Underneath their 'skin' some are indeed human.

Hi Shalay,
Like us Turkish Cypriots on this forum, after a few more threads of arguing and harsh remarks by the Greek Cypriots against anything Turkish Cypriot, like myself you will eventually go for all Three Passports - Australian, ROC (the 1960 "Original" Constitutional rights of the partner Turkish Cypriot people) and the TRNC's passport, which is your ethic right and will be one of the "Constituent State" Passports of a future United States of Cyprus when it materialises! Meanwhile, why not, the TRNC passport will give you a Swift entry into Turkey at any one moment and all of the Turkic states if you should like to travel.

As I've said, why not and it is your TC Ethnic right to claim all you can. I have All three, British, the country I was born and raised, the ROC passport that stems from my parents back in the day, and my TRNC passport which the Turkish Cypriot immigration love to see when I pass over the Border to Visit the best sites on the island in Gazi Magosa, Girne, St.Hilarion, Kantara, Tuzla, Lapta, Karpaz and Buyuk Han in Lefkosa, and then a simple boat ride with NO VISA restrictions to Turkey's wondeful Coastal resorts - Heaven at our footstep.

As for the Slanging matches, you will quickly get used to that if you should mention any of the Practical realities on the island like Partnership, Two States, Swiss Formula, Annan Plan and etc. Don't worry about it as whatever happens, it can't be worse than what we Turkish Cypriots have had to suffer in the Bad old days - Just ask your parents why they had to leave Cyprus for Australia, maybe?

Welcome to the Forum anyway, and I hope you take advantage of all of the Passports available to you - on a practical level!

i was wondering if anyone could help me..
I am an Australian of Turkish-Cypriot heritage, i've never actually been back to the country but my mum was born there and lived there for 15 years and my dad still lives there.
i was wondering, am i eligible for a cypriot passport and if so how could i go about getting one? i've emailed the embassy in Australia but they didn't reply.
thanks very much

Dear T/C friend. In line to Roc's stupid consitution you are-most propably- eligible to have a Roc's passport.

Above, despite the fact that if Your family (Father's ex patriots) were invating and occupying a small part of Australia, You would be in the deeper Australian grave by the Australian government.

My best regards and enjoy the Roc's passport when it will be given to you.

Don't bother with the "trnc" passport its not worth the paper it's written on.

Stick with plan A and get a proper Cypriot passport, thousands of TCs can't be wrong when escaping Turkish oppression.

You don't need to use your TRNC passport when travelling to Turkey, only your TRNC Citizenship I'D Card, and the same applies to Azer'bn, and is soon to also open to the other 5 Turkic Countries. What the GCs fail to understand is that the Cyprus issue is now over. Turkey is soon to accept a long delay on its EU membership bid until the EU themselves realise the mistakes they've made toward Turkey and Northern Cyprus. That's if this new UN report doesn't beat them to it!
