How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

And that it took a very long time to construct a 'new' document. That, in fact, most GC politicians did not want the Annan Plan ever mentioned again because it was no better than an international plot to destroy their country.

But in January this year, Christofias wrote a letter to the five permanent members of the UN Security Council in which he officially protested 10 instances in which, he said, a set of new Turkish proposals differed from the Annan Plan.

??

Give to Cristofias ore to any other Greek Cypriot president a solution plan with only 3 lines.

-Democratic system in a free country. EU laws fully apply.
The signature is coming in 10 mnts. All others are Turkish pshts.!!!!!

Wishful thinking I'm afraid. You are already a minority in the north. In a few years it'll be over. The northern economy faces bankruptcy. No trade, no flights, no recognition and our lawyers waiting to pull the trigger on their lawsuits. It's over. Better wise up to the fact and prepare for what Turkey has in mind for you. It is their interests they wish to preserve. Not yours.

How are you exactly planning to sue us?

There is nothing you can do, even if there isn't a single Cypriot left here, it will still continue to exist as Turkeys back yard, it will never end!

Turkey can choose belligerence. We know she doesn't give a fuck about the Turkish Cypriots so she can just choose to carry on occupying Cyprus in defiance of international law. But recognition will never come, direct trade will never come and the EU door will be slammed shut. It will still have to keep on pissing money away to keep the northern economy afloat while it gets little in return.

Occupying Cyprus gives it reduced international prestige and reduced diplomatic leverage in the region. Foreign investors won't be pleased as they are banking on continuing reform and closer EU ties. Turkey's economic prospects won't be as good if they were in the EU and more of its budget will go towards defence spending. If Turkey thinks its future lies in closer ties with anti-Western Islamist nutters then I say go for it! It might well be Erdogan's ambition but I doubt in the long run, that Turkey won't come to its senses. Cyprus is still the main obstacle to Turkey's ambitions - whether Turkey is in the EU or not. So we might just call Turkey's bluff and see which way she plans to go. It's a risk. But less of a risk than handing her the ROC on a plate.

Do your worst as the EU will continue to use you GC like cheap whores to do their dirty work, Turkey will never get in the EU she has been told this enough times by countries with big clout, so your dreams of EU leverage have sunk, Turkey will just keep on playing the EU we wanna join card to maintain that image which uses to her benefit, her economy has proven to be robust as one of the few countries not to effected by the world economic downturn. You can continue to paint doom and gloom for Turkey all you want because you did the same 5 years ago and will do the same in the future this is your fantasy but it aint gonna happen in fact she is improving much faster than many countries.

Plus this thing about Turkey paying us money you are the ones that claim we are part of Turkey so why they hell wouldn't she pay just like she does for any other of Turkey.

When have we said that Tnucland is part of Turkey? You really ought to stop putting words in our mouths.

And yes, Turkey is obliged to keep pissing money down the Tnucland toilet - because the economy in the north would collapse otherwise.

And what does Turkey get in return for its occupation? That is a question Turkey will have to ask itself as the EU door slowly closes in its face.

Ask your GCs bum chums whey they always claim we are part of Turkey so on this premiss Turkey invests in the north and gets plenty in return, where do we import most of our goods from? im sure you can work out the rest.

Your EU leverage will go with it.

Money spent in the north goes down the toilet. Turkey is not making a "profit" from you guys. And with the EU door closing it stands to lose a hell of a lot more. For what? Keeping a bunch of ingrates afloat while Turkey's EU dream goes up in smoke? Good call.

Bill is right...There is a lot of fear and suspision in most TCs regarding the Official GC state politics and intentions...These fears and mistrust are based on the past events...You people can pick and chose what incidents you will take as relevant to todays conditions...We have no such choice...The Enosis debarcle, the Akritas plot, and the 63-74 enclave situations are firmly itched in our collective consciousness...Moaning and groaning, name calling, and stupid accusations will not make them go away...What might ease our fear and mistrust is some goodwill and some concrete measures to improve understanding and empathy and trust between the communities...The GCs had all the strings of power in their hands since 1963...You did bugger all to win us over,to ease our minds,to gain our trust...You doggedly and bloodymindedly went about trying to crush all TC resistance and all TC presence on the island...You are still trying hard to make sure the spirit of Akritas is alive and well....What do you expect? A pat on the back from the TCs...???
