Yes GR has given you the chart for posting stuff off from Cyprus.

Lana you can ring them. Tell them what you are expecting and how much it cost etc.

I didn't have to pay anything on a parcel received from NZ. But you do have to go to main parcels place and take ID and sign for it. Then I've had DVDs sent over from the US and they've just arrived in my postbox with the ordinary post.

There will be a value limit probably under which you don't pay. There is in most countries. Often people will write something not quite true on the customs declaration on the parcel (not a very good idea - they will probably open it anyway).

But expect to have to pay a 'handling' charge too on top of the import tax.

What you will have to pay for sure is the 15% VAT calculated on the cost of the products and the cost of the shipping. Beyond that you might have to pay some import tax depending on what exactly you are importing. They have a booklet that tells them how much import tax that have to charge for each kind of product. Also if the cost of what you are importing is more than a certain amount (used to be 500 pounds) then you might need a customs clearer to do some paperwork for you (and you will have to pay him). This is how it was in Limassol at least. In Paphos they might be less strict. :D

Yeah, I screwed up Lana... I'll try and find the right info. But be sure to ask the retailer in Australia to reduce the total cost that appears on the post label!

Thanks Sotos and GR

I will ask the Supplier, in the land of the Decendents of Convicts to think carefully about the declared value; identical prodcuts by this manufacturere are available for half the Aussie price in the UK, but this specific model is not available in the UK.

Tell them to put "Sample, no commercial value" on the invoice, it works sometimes.
