So what percentage of those stray dogs are not a hunting breed?

Surely you’re not trying to dump all stray dog cases onto Cyps right…

You are aware of the ex-pat dog dumping problem right?

We could easily get into a deep arguement about men in the main abusing kids worldwide especially those who cover it up now in the name of marriage. I don,t think these men which is to good a name, are ever drunk at the time. Pretty much all of UK would hang a child abuser and then next to him a pet abuser given half a chance. I have no doubts Cyprus would do the same with child abusers BUT don,t think many give a toss about those who are cruel to animals. Use some of the sense you have left BEFORE you post and give us all a break.

A woman once asked two men: What do you think is more important, your size or the way you use it? The first man replied: My size! The lady smiled... The other man said "the way you use it". and the lady replied:" well there's another one with a short willy!....
So, Milo does this story show you something? Look at the numbers! Child abuse in the UK can not be compared with the animal abuse in Cyprus. Needless to say that animal abuse or child abuse has no nationality! Jerks are internationally recognized!

Ok GR here goes, to the 'King of the links' a challenge today.

http://www.cyprusanimalwelfare.com/inde ... &Itemid=92

This next sanctuary knows full well about the numerous cruelty cases in and around Cyprus but choose to show the way that they have brought the animals back from the brink you will notice Bruno the sixth dog down who was the one dragged behind a vehicle that hit the news last year.

http://www.argossanctuary.com/sponsorDogs.html

There are more if you like to see some, many of these shelters run by saints actually get new homes off the island in the UK, Germany Sweden etc seen as the expats and foriegners just cannot home anymore abuse, cruelty, and abandoned animals.

GR you know I am aware of the expat dumping problem they are in the same category as anyone else who does this, its sick and shows the mental instability of people who call themselves animal lovers they are,nt and never will be. Surely you are not excusing your own countrymen for what they do to their animals?

Why do we have the barking dogs problem everywhere because your animal lovers here believe its ok to ties them to a short lead 24/7 with little food no shelter and hardly any water, my Cypriot vet tells me this he hopes it will improve in the meantime he deals with the neglect on a daily basis.

IF my ex country did,nt at least deal with the animals abused in a proper fashion by caring for them and have people who are willing to hunt the retards down who do it I would understand your position on the UK, it happens BUT its helped by great people who find new very willing homes I had one in the UK myself from a cruel dog breeder who was prosecuted plus two rescue cats here I have done the same, but its not addressed here that is the terrible dilemma, shelters are overun helped by in the main foreign money.

Its no use just putting link after link without showing me where in Cyprus we can get help and money to give these cruelty cases a chance they need homes good ones not back to being tied up and neglected. I can of course put hundreds of links for the UK that at least addresses the cruelty of animals.

Milo, so would it be fair to say that animal cruelty is a tragic GLOBAL PHENOMENON irrespective of gender, age, race, religion, country, etc?

Yes, the problems are how or if it is being addressed in Cyprus. The shelters just cannot cope, they recieve little(350 euros per year for one) or no funding from the authorities and they have trouble rehoming as there are not enough people who wish to rehome an animal

Apparently 10 years ago international welfare groups came to the island to help sterilise strays asked to do so by the then govt. It appears the vets in Cyprus complained as they were losing work, so they were stopped. I can,t find out much about it, it might aleviate the stray cats problem which is growing again.

What a sick world this is.

I opened my wheely-bin this morning and a wasp flew out and I thought, "what kind of sick f*ck would dump a wasp in a wheely bin".

My wheely-bin was full of toadstools! How did I know? Because there was not mushroom inside!
