There is no such thing as extinction in this case, only transformation, we are not Aborigines

I have the feeling that the vast majority of the TC community wants an end to the ongoing division of the island. Deep in their hearts, the true Turkish Cypriots (not the settlers or mainland Turks) want to be Cypriot citizens, not Turkey's citizens. TCs are not stupid. They know, the RoC is the way to go, not Turkey.

The fact that they voted for Eroglu does not mean the TCs want 2 separate states but just a different leader besides Talat who might get the job done. Voting for a separatist leader does not represent a gallup poll result in favor of a 2 state solution. Besides, Talat & the other political parties of the north want BBF, a well known fact.

What is sad is the hard line Turk posters on this board, inflame the discussion and inject venom between the two communities.

These hardliners in question DO NOT REPRESENT THE MAJORITY OF THE TC POPULATION and , therefor, only speak for themselves.

I have not met 1 TC that wishes to be united as a single state under GC rule.

I think you blew that along with the Annan Plan, it won't happen again.

yeah well shah can you tell us where you see yourselfs becoming the next 20 years?...coz you know confederation is not going to happen...partition is what we have today and it either remains with more tcs leaving the island and more anatolians coming or you get annexed and then the real fun begins for you guys...

The Roc is not GC rule... you are confused.

RoC is the legal authority for all Cypriots regardless of ethicity, language or religion background. If you think along these lines, you might understand what Cyprob is all about.

It's funny, you called me Canadian!

I am a Cypriot too but also a Canadian citizen. Just like me, any one who wants to immigrate to Canada must "recognize" Canada and get the citizenship. There are GCs & TCs here in Canada, working & living together - no problem.

AS LONG AS YOU RECOGNIZE THE LEGAL AUTHORITY OF THE LAND, YOU CAN JOIN & ENJOY IT'S BENEFITS.

Obviously, although as a GC, I still maintain my Greek Cypriot origin but the Canadian Government represents me, nothing wrong about that.

I know you know all about this, not trying to lecture you.

If the Canadian "ombrella" can embrace 100s of different ethic groups, why not the RoC?

First of all;

1- Everyone who could get a RoC passport and leave, has already done it and the remainder obviously do not need to leave. How many years has it been now? If EVERYONE wanted to leave, they would have already done so, I am still here and so are others.

2- The borders are now closed to entrance with an ID to the Anatolians, everyone needs passports.

3- All citizenship applications have been suspended.

I mean what are you worried about anyway, you have already been assimilated into the Australian culture, what is Cypriot about you? Whatever there is left will probably disappear in another generation or so, so goodbye Cypriotism.

I don't understand what you are trying to say.

We are not Canada, we are not Canadians. Why even compare?

You also have division in your country, the French Canadians want their own state, so clearly, the magical Canadian system cannot represent everyone under their "umbrella"

Again, 1 people divided by 2 languages, wins.

It is inevitable.
