According to Erdogan's recent exclamations, GCs' leverage cannot be equaled by Turkey.

I understand some people's need to hang onto the hope that the EU will somehow save Cyprus from Turkey's clutches. That somehow in their desparation to join the EU Turkey will have to give in on Cyprus.I also understand why most GCs refuse to entertain the idea that this Turkish government have no intention of joining the EU...But all these denials do not change the reality...Erdogan and his mob always used Cyprus as a pawn in their dealings with the Military...They used Cyprus as a carrot...They also used Cyprus to keep the pace of the EU accession talks at comforable level for Turkey. The status quo serves Erdogan and his government well...They have no intension of ever solving Cyprop, not in the sense that the GCs would like anyway...Erdogan is a sly fox indeed. He has ran rings around the Military and effectively took them out of the power equation...The sly fox is using the headscarf issue for internal political purposes. He is turning the issue into a human rights issue, knowing well that it is winning him votes amongst the conservative religious voters...with the recent referandum the sly fox has brought the Judiciary (including the Constitutional court, the highest court of appeal in Turkey)under his influence...He has two priorities now. One is the Kurdish problem, and the other is the Iranian situation...Once he deals with them to his satisfaction,he will turn his full attention onto the EU situation...You will all see what his real intentions are then...Cyprus problem will not be solved till then...When it is solved it will be according to Turkey's interests...Make that according to Erdogan and his party's interests...I doubt GC or TC interests will come much into play... :(
