Well we've just returned from Pernera, and it really does depend on where you go. One of the best tavernas on the eastern side (between Pernera and Protaras) is the Super S.

On Saturday we only ordered a main course, but were still given a complimentary dish of tsaziki. The stifado that followed was excellent, and although we didn't want a dessert we were handed a dish of fresh melon. I had a half carafe of wine and the wife a diet coke. Finally we were given complimentary liqueurs - I chose the zivania, and a second glass came after I polished that one off. Before a 3rd free glass came (I got the feeling I could have stayed all night drinking zivania!) we said our goodbyes and left.

Total cost? 19 euros. Now thats around 12 old cyprus pounds for what would have cost us at least £40 in the UK.

Cyprus still has some places that do not charge rip off prices - and to be honest these seem to be the most pleasant and genuine places too.

Super S will have our custom again in May - and more than once too.

Christ, don't you whine on all the time about the same thing...?

Aren't you the guy claiming unemployment benefit as you boasted on here some time ago? I can't help but think that Cyprus would be better off without you...

Why don't you go back to the U- oh no, you hate it there too don't you?

Taxed to the hilt i went home to my homeland recently and enjoyed my one week stay, discovering many changes over the past 5 years.
For many years i have understood the way we work for the goverment and how the goverment are forever bring in new measures to take that hard earned cash from out of our pockets, why are we so layed back when new measures are introduced to releave us of our money,im sure most other countrys would have had civil war on there hands if this was the case there.
20 years ago they were making £18,0000 a day on tobaco revenue
they banned smoking now in public places and im sure they have lost considerable amount of revenue there although the prices hace risen considerably since then so maybe lost no revenue.
when are the brits going to stand up against the goverment back home and say enough is enough tax tax tax

Why did you choose it then? I presume you looked at the menu?

If it was that bad, why didnt you just go somewhere else?
