Oracle, you have to correct your opinion/idea about Turks , in general.
Believe me there are Turkish citizens who has no disanvadage against any Greek or European citizen. (Actually many of the most clever and productive persons i know are Turks).

Our problem is that we usually -under estimated them.
Their problem is that they are trying (the persons i speak about) to survive and promote themselves in a country and particularly culture which is just a result of Ottomans theory that they can create a Nation from ash, using 100 cultures and Ethnicities.

Similar project is under way by our "great leadership" in Cyprus.

If we not find a way to stop our leaders of doing the same mistake Attaturk made, we will have the same problem after 20 years.

All these Neo Cypriots and supporters must understand that Ethnicities and cultures are created by people and not by Annan plans and other green horses. The same must be also understood by Turks in mainland Turkey for their inland minorities.

I agree with you; there are some admirable Turkish individuals. But, as communities, they stink.

The same is always said about Greek people being the most xenophobic people next to the Brits.

Thats quite an insult considering one is actually meant to be Mediterranean and "warm"

They have no problem with that obviously.

The problem is the way Germany is expecting them to "integrate".

They have to give up their Turkish citizenship in order to become German and they are not free to easily travel back and forward until they do that. This results in a lot of them to never go back home for decades.

It is an effective way to assimilate.

Plus they are forced to take this test on Germany before they can apply!

It is stupid, no one immigrates for the culture, but for work, they are desperate. They wouldn't have put people through these tests a few decades ago when they were desperate for those Turk's to come.

Also ironically, some of their own PM's are known to have failed that test.

When Turkey enters the EU, you won't have any of these problems. You can get a permanent resident's permit after only five years and you don't have to know a single German word.

True, but Turkey's entrance to the EU is blocked by Germany as well.

Even if they hand Cyprus over on a silver plate, decorated with chakistes and goryandoro, German's seem to have other reasons to keep her out.

And then there is the French of course

Even then, they are talking about a limited membership, where people have restricted freedom of travel.

It is just a show, really, no one wants Turkey.

That's true, but you as a Turkish Cypriot can marry a turkish woman (or man since gay marriages are legit in Germany), then divorce, marry another, etc. Imagine how many Turks you can help out!

There was a time when they opened their doors for Turks, as did the UK for the Indians, they all needed cheap labour, so there was a boom of immigration.

I guess it is over now.
