The Turkish community in Germany is a great advertisment to the German leadership why Turkey is not ready to join the EU.

In this full analysis http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-11532699 it states:

This is far short of the harder line of Thilo Sarrazin, a central banker who caused a storm by saying: "A large number of Arabs and Turks have no productive function other than in the fruit and vegetable trade."

Leaders like Merkel should actually say what they actually mean, in that multiculturalism DOES work, its Islamic culture and values that does not work.

I think the problem is that government's have been telling their voters what a wonderful multicultural society they live in - but nobody asked the voters if they wanted a multicultural society. And many of them don't - hence the unrest...

Last time I was in the UK I went to a concert in Wembley Arena... walking down Wembley high street you could have been in sub Saharan Africa if it wasn't for the red buses... Who voted for that?

Isn't it relevant that most of the UK's immigrants are from English speaking, ex-colonies and that this, compared to Turkey/Germany who share no history other than losing WW1, makes a big difference?

Take a walk down Wembley high street and see how much English you hear spoken around you...

Oracle, you have to correct your opinion/idea about Turks , in general.
Believe me there are Turkish citizens who has no disanvadage against any Greek or European citizen. (Actually many of the most clever and productive persons i know are Turks).

Our problem is that we usually -under estimated them.
Their problem is that they are trying (the persons i speak about) to survive and promote themselves in a country and particularly culture which is just a result of Ottomans theory that they can create a Nation from ash, using 100 cultures and Ethnicities.

Similar project is under way by our "great leadership" in Cyprus.

If we not find a way to stop our leaders of doing the same mistake Attaturk made, we will have the same problem after 20 years.

All these Neo Cypriots and supporters must understand that Ethnicities and cultures are created by people and not by Annan plans and other green horses. The same must be also understood by Turks in mainland Turkey for their inland minorities.

I agree with you; there are some admirable Turkish individuals. But, as communities, they stink.

Me Ed wrote:Merkel says German multicultural society has failed

Attempts to build a multicultural society in Germany have "utterly failed", Chancellor Angela Merkel says.

She said the so-called "multikulti" concept - where people would "live side-by-side" happily - did not work, and immigrants needed to do more to integrate - including learning German.
...
Earlier this month the chancellor held talks with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in which the two leaders pledged to do more to improve the often poor integration record of Germany's estimated 2.5 million-strong Turkish community.

The full report:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-11559451

What Merkel means by "integration" is actually the tota Germanfication!

Anyone who has been there or knows about the immigration laws would know what I am talking about.

Turks are either meant to be German or go back home.

Thats how strict they are, so it was never about being "multikulti", just cheap labour that can also forget their identity.
