No EU option for TRNC

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Shahmaran, I completely agree with you. It certainly didn't work, and we know the reasons why as well.

then if nothing will work according to both of you then what do you recommend?
the status quo?
a agreed partition?
what would that look like?

Federal system.

We have 35 years of economic loss to work on. To be honest we need that more than trust.

There is something unsettling about having to trust the other side and I am sure it is the same over there.

It is too early to trust each other just like that.

It is also stupid that we have to live in isolation because of something Turkey does.

When did I ever get a say about any of this? Never!

If they want to put pressure on Turkey then they should isolate Turkey, what good is it doing keeping me isolated?

I tell you what, we are not wanted here! Yet we have to trust them!?!

The Cyprus cucumber model seems to be the only one left for “Turkish Cypriots” and the "TRNC"! Image

There are a bunch of plans going around.

To be honest I do not care about the inner workings that much.

As long as we have some kind of autonomy and don't have to totally rely on a solely GC run government, police and justice system.

Where we can both have a say on what goes on in the country and on each others states in some way.

Definitely not having to live in an ethnoracy.

On a more extreme level, I rather stay like this than be a "tourist" in my own country, thats definitely a no no!

i think if there is respect for the rights of individuals within the states and the functions of the federal govt and the states is defineded in advance most cypriots would go for it.i think even the basic freedoms of the eu can be suspended for a few years.

Well that sounds sweet indeed buddy, but honestly how many States do you know who has actually achieved that level of perfection?

Not many and definitely none as young as the RoC as well as with the history of the RoC.

We are talking about 2 people who were murdering each other only 40 years ago.

2 states is a good place to start considering where we are right now.

1 state will come in time.

Get Real,

I have to admit that you made me laugh with your last post in this thread, you dropped it so smoothly. Funny.....

But, the sad thing is that everyone around is now starting to see the light - besides you my dear friend.

Please read my latest post in the thread "Why is Christofias Still Talking?". You are gonna like it!

Meanwhile, my invitation to meet you in Girne still stands - send me and email mate.
